THE VINTAGE SERIES | LITTLEMILL 8YO!
Littlemill Distillery was one of the oldest and most renowned whisky distilleries in Scotland, located in the town of Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, near Glasgow. It was established in 1772 by George Buchanan, who obtained a license to produce whisky on the site of an old brewery. Littlemill was a Lowland whisky distillery, known for producing light and elegant single malt whiskies that were highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts around the world. Littlemill underwent several changes of ownership and periods of closure throughout its history, but it remained in operation until 1994, when it was destroyed by a fire. Since then, it has become a highly collectible and sought-after whisky, with bottles from its earlier years commanding high prices at auctions and among collectors. Littlemill was known for its unique still design, which included a unique “wash and spirit” still system that allowed for greater control over the distillation process and produced a more delicate and refined spirit. The distillery also experimented with different cask types and maturation techniques, resulting in a range of distinctive and highly regarded whiskies.
